Kate Hudson proved that she can be the outdoor type of gal. Temporarily leaving the comforts of home, Hudson took the challenge of the wild in the latest episode of NBC's hit show "Running Wild with Bear Grylls."
Daily Mail reported that Kate is happy to join Bear Grylls as he hikes the Italian Dolomites. The two-day hike tested Hudson to her limits as she did everything when they hiked the mountain range.
The real challenge came when Grylls asked her to eat ants to make sure she has protein in her diet. NY Daily reported that Hudson didn't think the ants tasted bad, but it's another story when it comes to cooking the pigeon. She asked Grylls if the pigeons are already dead before he started cooking it. Hudson said that Grylls just ripped the heads of the pigeon and it shocked her. She said that it "might give me nightmares."
Hudson's next challenge is rappelling down the mountains. The task initially made Hudson freak out, but she survived and was even teary-eyed as she joins Grylls on the ground.
Hudson opened up to Grylls about some issues that she has with her biological father, Bill Hudson. The actress revealed that she has no contact with her father and doesn't maintain any kind of relationship with him.
Kate Hudson and her brother, Oliver Hudson, grew up with Kurt Russell — Goldie Hawn's longtime partner. Hudson said that Kurt is an amazing father and that he's been there since she was three years old.
"Running Wild with Bear Grylls" ranked as one of the top NBC shows. Variety reported that the latest survey that the show's premiere episode was a success with 3.7 million viewers tuning in.
Kate Hudson is just one of the celebrities to make a guest appearance on the show. Other celebrities that are set to appear in "Running Wild with Bear Grylls" includes Michelle Rodriguez, Kate Winslet, Michael Jordan and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
