Devon Still's daughter has still got that fighting spirit as she is on her way to recovery.

The Cincinatti Bengals defensive tackle player and daughter Leah Still have been battling pediatric cancer for almost over a year now. The road to recovery was full of challenges and heartaches that even Devon felt like giving up, but thankfully he didn't, and together with his daughter, they overcame the struggles that life threw at them.

Bleacher Report revealed, Devon Still accepted the Jimmy V. Perseverance Award from ESPY, on Wednesday, on behalf of daughter Leah who is still in a 90 day quarantine from her stem-cell procedure. Leah is nearing her 60th day.

According to ESPN, in his acceptance speech, Devon told the live audience and those glued to their television sets to never lose hope and press on no matter how trying the circumstances are. Devon Still also talked about the "nightmare" he and daughter Leah had to endure.

In his speech, he went from questioning God to regularly thinking twice to run to the liquor store to drown his pain. Still was filled with emotions in his description of what it felt like for a parent to see his child go through a severe illness.

Still told the cancer-stricken and their families, "You know, on TV, I look like a hero. I look like I'm saving the day, but honestly, y'all are the real heroes. What I do is easy. I stand in front of people and I tell them your story. But y'all are the ones that are actually battling cancer and going through rounds and rounds of chemo and radiation, and y'all remain with a smile on y'all's faces.

"And y'all never give up. That's go inspiring and it helped me on my battle."

Viewers got to take an intimate view of the struggles Devon Still went through as daughter Leah Still fights Stage 4 neuroblastoma in a pre-recorded video. Throughout the highs and lows that go with the tenacious disease, the father-daughter tandem has kept a positive attitude and has remained resilient, as per E! News.

LeBron James presented the ESPY award to Devon Still and daughter Leah for all the inspiration that they have beamed out to people in the sports community both inside and out.

These days, Devon Still is beaming with joy since daughter Leah is currently in remission from her cancer.

Devon Still's final words to his beautiful daughter were, "I just want to thank you. In the five years I've been with you, you've taught me more about life than I could ever do and I love you and I'm just proud of you."

That was more than enough to bring the crowd in tears. Press on Devon and Leah!
