'Minecraft' Movie UPDATE: 5 Facts About Director Rob McElhenney

The "Minecraft" movie has a new director. Meet the "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" star Rob McElhenney.
Mojang showed a snap of McElhenney with the announcement stating, "Some of you may have seen this guy hanging around MINECON in London a couple of weeks ago."
"He's Rob McElhenney, and he's going to be directing the upcoming Minecraft movie," Mojang added, Game Informer has learned.
The "Minecraft" movie was to be helmed by Shawn Levy of "Night At The Museum," according to TG Daily. However, he dropped out of the project.
There are no updates revealed about the "Minecraft" movie except its new director — some may be familiar with, while others aren't.

1. He is a dad of two kids.
McElhenney married Kaitlin Olson on Sept. 27, 2008. The couple had their first child, Axel Lee McElhenney, on Sept. 1, 2010.
Interestingly, McElhenney's wife went into labor at the Philadelphia Phillies' game. On April 5, 2012, Olson gave birth to their second child, Leo Grey.
2. He isn't just an actor.
McElhenney has a couple of credits in writing and directing. One of which is his upcoming film, "Pariah."
He also directed and wrote three episodes from the TV series "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" and "Danny DeVito & the Contract," as per data from IMDb.
3. He went all-out in "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" season seven.
To give extra humor to his character, he gained 50 pounds and grew his beard. He lost 23 pounds in a month, following the completion of the season.
4. He owns Mac's Tavern.
He and his wife purchased the Skinner's Bar at 226 Market Street in Philadelphia in 2009. It was then renamed Mac's Tavern.
5. He is a fan of "Game of Thrones."
He's been a long-time fan of "Game of Thrones," as per the report of The Hollywood Reporter. That's why he was flattered when David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, creators of "GOT," pitched him the story of the episode in the bar.
