LinkedIn, Twitter, and AOL Founders to Speak at Techonomy Detroit

IT wizards and innovators from LinkedIn, Twitter, and AOL will flock to Detroit in the fall for "Techonomy Detroit."
The one-day event hosted by the Detroit Economic Club aims to bring together local and national tech trailblazers to refuel competitiveness in the field and discuss the ways cities use and interact with technology.
The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. on September 12 at Wayne State University.
"Detroit's economic struggles make it an apt stage for a national conversation on the role of tech in progress for cities, industries, economy and society," said David Kirkpatrick, founder, host and CEO of Techonomy Media and author of "The Facebook Effect." "And in Detroit you can feel the nascent energy of revival driven by business and the local community."
The event will feature keynote addresses by Jack Dorsey, inventor of Twitter, Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn and Steve Case, co-founder of AOL.
Techonomy Media Inc. hosts the annual Techonomy conference in November which gather close to 275 innovators to discuss the ways in which tech in bringing about change in business and everyday life.
The flagship Techonomy conferences in 2010 and 2011 featured speakers such as Bill Gates, Sean Parker, Marc Benioff, and Jeff Bezos.
