Fox's hit TV series' "Empire" is all geared up for Season 2 and the producers sure did splurge by gathering some of Hollywood's biggest stars to grace the show.

According to Design and Trend, some of the actors confirmed to guest star in Lee Daniels' "Empire" Season 2 were:

1. Marissa Tomei: Tomei will portray the character of a venture capitalist earning billions of course, who will have an interest in Empire Entertainment. Marissa Tomei will appear in the upcoming reboot of "Spider-Man" and fill in the shoes of Aunt May.

2. Lenny Kravitz: Kravitz will play as an accomplished actor and a multi-platinum selling artist. Lenny Kravitz was last seen in the "Hunger Games" franchise as the designer of Katniss' costumes.

3. Alicia Keys: The "Girl on Fire" singer's role has not yet been revealed, but she's not a newbie in the acting department having appeared in "The Secret Life of Bees" and "Smokin' Aces."

4. Chris Rock: Chris Rock needs no introduction. This comedian icon will shine in "Empire" Season 2.

5. Ludacris: Ludacris is best known for his role in the "Fast and the Furious" franchise. His role in "Empire" Season 2 would be Police Officer McKnight.

Speaking of Ludacris, the actor posted on Instagram an image of himself in a prison guard attire together with Terrence Howard, "Empire" lead star, in an inmate orange jumpsuit, as per Cinema Blend.

Ludacris' character in "Empire" Season 2, as reported by Access Hollywood, would be a veteran prison guard, who believed that celebrities should not be given privileges when in prison and be treated just as a regular inmate. Meaning, Howard's character, Lucious Lyon, head honcho of Empire Entertainment would be in prison for quite some time after being arrested for his part in Bunkie's murder as last seen in Season 1, as per Music Times.

According to StarrFm online, "Empire" follows the life of hip-hop tycoon Lucious Lyon played by Howard as he fights it out with a terminal disease and makes an effort to select from one of his three sons (Jamal, Andre and Hakeem) to take over the music empire he built. Of course, ex-wife Cookie played by Taraji P. Henson is around to shake things up.
