Ben Affleck's camp is trashing reports that the "Batman V Superman" star cheated on his wife Jennifer Garner with their kids' former nanny.
"The story is complete garbage and full of lies," an unnamed representative of Affleck told People magazine about the Us Weekly article posted online Wednesday and published in the current print issue, Newsday has learned.
Moreover, USA Today was also told by another representative that, "The story is full of lies. You shouldn't be able to hide behind 'blind sources' and attempt to destroy families going through a difficult time. It's shameful."
The 42-year-old's camp noted that they are "considering legal options."
Despite the persistent denial of the 42-year-old's side, Us entertainment director Ian Drew maintained their credibility to "Access Hollywood" on Wednesday saying, "We stick by our sources and everything that's in the story."
On July 29, Us Weekly ran a story claiming that the Oscar winner has been romantically involved with 28-year-old Beverly Hills child-care agency employee Christine Ouzounian, the nanny he and Garner hired for their children Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3.
The report said Garner, 43, and Affleck were in a 10-month trial separation when Ouzounian started working for the couple, who has been married for 10 years. The California native then developed an attraction for the actor and the two would "hang out without the kids," said a friend of Ouzounian. "And they were very flirty."
Garner reportedly discovered the affair, so she fired the babysitter. However, the relationship between Affleck and the ex-sorority girl did not stop there and the two continued to see each other.
A pal of Ouzounian told People that the young lady, who had also worked as nanny for Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka's twins, confessed to her friends that the affair "has been going on for a long time."
"Christine is in love with him," the friend added.
