There hasn't been any official announcement for the release date of "Grand Theft Auto 6" or "GTA 6," but there are speculations that it's slated for a 2018 release for next generation consoles, and considering the expected demand for PC version later on, Rockstar is expected launch it on the PC platform as well, GTA 6 Grand Theft Auto.com reported.
The same publication reported that "GTA 5" was history's fastest selling video game, earning $800 million on the first day of release and $1 billion within three days.
Following the huge success of "GTA 5", gamers are now expecting for "GTA 6" to be released soon. However, Rockstar Games president Leslie Benzies said that they're still focusing on "GTA Online," Venture Capital Post has learned.
"We've got about 45 years' worth of ideas we want to do," Benzies said in a press conference.
Meanwhile, gamers are expecting a female protagonist for the game's sixth installment. According to some reports, fans have different predictions and reactions to it.
Rockstar Games head writer Dan Houser said in an interview that they never really thought about a female character in "GTA 5." But that didn't mean that they couldn't or wouldn't.
"In the future, could we do a game with a lead female character? Of course. We just haven't found the right game for it yet, but it's one of the things that we always think about," Houser said.
He added that for "GTA 5" those were the characters that would display those themes they were thinking about. But if you take that statement into consideration, who knows right?
If the storyline change pushes through, Rockstar's definitely got to do a lot of work, and it is definitely going to be a big change in the GTA series.
Another hot "GTA 6" debate topic is the location. Will it be in Vice City, Houston, Texas or outside United States?
Rockstar appears to have set the idea of the "Grand Theft Auto" series to take place in America. The developers may feel like the franchise will not work outside the United States, according to Movie Pilot.
The "GTA 6" characters and location haven't been confirmed yet.
