The PS3 and probably an Xbox 360 version of "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5," also known as "Tony Hawk 5," will be released on Nov. 10. According to Game Stop, it can be purchased online or at the store for $39.99.
The PS4 version will be released on Sept. 29, that's approximately one month ahead of the old gen consoles' slated date. The long delay between platform releases is concerning and gamers are wondering if it is too ambitious for the older systems, as per Twinfinite.
While next generation consoles get to have online multiplayer, iDigital Times learned that the PS3 version will not have this component. To compensate, the copies of "Tony Hawk 5" in older gen consoles will be sold $20 less than their next gen counterparts.
Game developer Robomodo said that the "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5" online multiplayer will work similarly with "Destiny," a first-person shooter video game published by Activision. Players will be loaded into a gaming lobby — Freeskate level.
The Freeskate levels, where players can hang out, skate, jump into missions and online matches, will be able to hold a maximum of 20 gamers. Josh Tsui, Robomodo's president, stated that Freeskate lobbies are going to be hosted on dedicated servers to allow players to drop in and out of play.
Tsui said that whenever a player is ready, he or she can jump into missions with his or her party or even challenge the entire park in one of the competitive multiplayer modes.
When the mission or a match is done, the player can either retry or jump back into the Freeskate, where he or she can hangout while thinking about what to do next.
Meanwhile, Tony Hawk, endorser of the skateboard video game series, was reportedly impressed by the paper-made deck created by Ernest Packaging, The Good Life reported. The cardboard survived trials by fire, without cracking, breaking or bowing, in addition to Hawk's ramp runs.
