New leaked images of Samsung's upcoming flagship device, the Galaxy Note 5, revealed a replica of the phablet made using 3D printing technology.

In addition, a known tipster has also detailed the specs of the highly anticipated gadget.

According to 3DPrint.com, the replica model of the Galaxy Note 5 model was made by Ivo Maric using dimensions of the device that were leaked in the past. Using a 3D printer, he was able to create a model that accurately depicts the design of the upcoming phablet.

Based on Maric's model and rumored dimensions of the Galaxy Note 5, the device has a thickness of 7.9mm. This is certainly a significant change since its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 4, is 8.5mm thick.

He then noted that the difference in terms of dimensions between these two devices is certainly noticeable.

"I just 3D printed the Galaxy Note 5 CAD model," he wrote on his Instagram account. "I'll compare it with the Note 4 [Galaxy] S6. Full YouTube video coming soon."

"It feels thinner than the Note 4 and is almost 1mm narrower," he added.

Aside from the design of the Galaxy Note 5, gadget lovers were also treated to another leak about its features. On Aug. 1, Evan Blass, also known as Twitter user evleaks, gave a quick rundown of the phablet's major specs, Sam Mobile reported.

According to the tipster, the Galaxy Note 5 will come with a 5.7-inch display, sporting a screen resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. It will house a 13-megapixel main camera paired with a 5-megapixel selfie snapper.

Like Samsung's current flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S6, the Galaxy Note 5 will also be powered by the company's octa-core Exynos 7420 chipset. But, the latter will feature a bumped up RAM at 4GB, Engadget has learned.

The device will pack 32GB of RAM but as noted by Blass, it will not have a microSD card slot, which means users will not be able to expand its native memory. As for its operating system, the tipster said the Galaxy Note 5 will ship with the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop firmware.

Samsung has not yet announced when it will officially debut the Galaxy Note 5 but various sources are expecting its launch to be held on Aug. 13, during the company's Unpacked event.
