"Pretty Little Liars" season finale will air Tuesday on ABC Family. The finale promised to fulfill every fans' questions that have built up during the previous six seasons. The identity of A will finally be revealed.
Sasha Pieterse who plays Alison told TVLine, "The finale tells us everything — who 'A' is and why everything happened — so you kind of think, 'OK, where do we go from here?' The writers have done a great job with what happens next and what our characters have gone through in these five years. The show is definitely not over, but there are also no more questions when it comes to the past."
As for her character's whereabouts after the time jump, Pieterse admitted, "It was the opposite of what I thought would happen to her. It made sense once the writers explained the storyline for Alison."
"So the fans are going to be shocked, but at the same time, they'll appreciate it. She wants normality, which she gets, but in a way you wouldn't expect. The location is not where you'd expect her to be."
Before the big reveal of "A" in "Pretty Little Liars," Entertainment Tonight had a conversation with two of the stars of the show, Shay Mitchell and Troian Bellisario, to wriggle out some juicy details regarding the finale and ask them if fans will be gratified with the identity of the person behind the black hoodie.
Mitchell looked back to the moment that Marlene King, executive producer of "Pretty Little Liars" told her the person behind "A." Her reaction was, "I was shocked!"
"I was just like, 'How did you come up with this?!' After hearing it I was just like, 'Whoa! What goes on in your mind?' But it was so great."
Bellisario on the other hand admitted, "I'm a very, very nosey person so I kind of made it my business to know. I got enough of the people in the writer's room talking a long time ago to find out who 'A' was, so for me, it was fun to see how they've built up to it, and to get to watch the person who got to be the final performance as 'A' for all of this time."
As for the question if the shocking revelation would live up to the fans' agonizing wait of five years, the actress said, "I think some fans are going to be satisfied. When the person is revealed, it does all make sense. It's been a long time coming so I hope that fans will be satisfied and excited to see this chapter close and see the next chapter open up.
Meanwhile, The Verge reported that the foolish thing that a viewer can do when viewing a new episode of "Pretty Little Liars" was to try to recall any information from the previous episode. The series was designed to disappoint — plot being too complicated to comprehend, and if a viewer did understand it, it would not be worthwhile when all that can be retained was the shadowy figures observing through the windows or the threatening cryptic text messages.
"Pretty Little Liar" fan or not, watch out for Tuesday's season finale and share your thoughts below on your guess as to who "A" is.
