"Power Rangers" movie reportedly revealed the names of the five lead characters. It seems that their descriptions are similar to the original members, but this time, the film will dig deeper into their background stories.

Sources close to the new "Power Rangers" movie exclusively updated Collider with the character names and their descriptions, starting off with what everybody knows as the Red Ranger, Jason, who was described as the town's legend — a freshman quarterback with exceptional skills.

He has quite a reputation until he had a car accident and busted his knees. He lost everything, but the boy who needed redemption at the start of the film will end up leading a group of teenagers who will eventually save the world.

Next is Billy, who was described as smart and sweet, but at the same time "awkward." He's constantly challenged in dealing with his OCD and by his abilities to communicate and interact with people.

It wasn't really explained why, but he was described as someone who was instantly drawn towards Jason. Maybe that's because he doesn't really have many friends?

Zack is the cool and charming guy who's always the life of the party. Contrary to Billy, Zack's confidence is oozing.

He publicizes everything about him, except for the fact that he lives in a trailer park with his mom. It was reported that because of that, he felt inferior to all his friends.

Kimberly, who used to be one of those unconventionally cool girls, will return to school after six months of absence due to her rebellious attitude. There were allegations, but it was revealed that these were nothing but front to mask a deep secret that makes her feel vulnerable.

Finally, Trini, who was described as an extremely bright but mysterious girl is said to be a loner, self-sufficient, contemplative but very observant member of the team. She may never admit it, but all she ever wants is to find a group of people she can call friends.

Talking about Trini and Kimberly, it was good that these characters did not indicate that they should be "beautiful" because the "Power Rangers" casting should be about the attitude, according to The Mary Sue.

If this breakdown is true, then it confirms the speculations about the characters involved in the new "Power Ranger," as per Spinoff Online. However, it is not yet confirmed if a new character will be added.

"Power Rangers" will be directed by Dean Israelite and is scheduled to be released on Jan. 13, 2017.
