"The Notebook" Series — After having been such a huge hit on the big screen, The CW will reportedly be bringing the Nicholas Sparks romantic drama to TV, with a promise to explore the core, heart-breaking tale of Allie and Noah.
The American television network is said to have prepared enormous plans for "The Notebook" as a TV series, delving into the lovestruck couple's youth as they grow up in the rural North Carolina setting post-World War II, We Got This Covered has learned.
On Tuesday morning, The CW President Mark Pedowitz, reportedly dished some details on the speculative show at the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills.
"This series will follow the romantic journey of the two beloved central characters Noah and Allie, at the outset of their blossoming relationship as they build their lives and their future together against the backdrop of the racial politics, economic inequities, and social mores of post-World War II of the late 1940s in North Carolina," the official logline in Entertainment Weekly read.
There will also be major presentation differences between the show and the movie, with the elderly version of the couple and Allie having been stricken with Alzheimer's reportedly omitted in the series.
"I don't believe we're going to see the older couple — what they become," Pedowitz explained. "But things change [in development]. I'm thrilled Nick Sparks wanted to do it at The CW."
And while Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling may no longer be back to star in the series, Nicholas Sparks will be executive producer himself, as per Business Insider.
Meanwhile, with news about "The Notebook" being turned into a television series circulating, several names of actors to possibly play Noah and Allie have started to emerge.
Among those rooted to play Allie are Dianna Agron, Lyndsy Fonseca, Maika Monroe, Skyler Samuels, Nicola Peltz, Nina Dobrev, Halston Sage and Ashley Benson, according to Pop Sugar.
