Fans are getting quite excited and are already thrilled about the upcoming "Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales." And adding to the excitement are the recently released on-set photos shared by the film's producer Jerry Bruckheimer on social media.
Almost three weeks ago, film director Joachim Ronning teased "Pirate" fans when he shared a post on Instagram that filming of "Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales" has wrapped up in Australia. And just recently, film producer Jerry Bruckheimer updated the movie's social media fan base by releasing behind-the-scenes images from the Australian set of the film, Comic Book noted.
As seen in one of the photos, which were taken during the early days of pre-production of "Pirates of the Caribbean 5," director Ronning is working with actors Geoffrey Rush (Barbosa) and Kaya Scodelario (Carina Smith). Though the pictures didn't reveal any detail about the upcoming installment, it still gave fans a glimpse of what to expect from the film.
Speaking of cast, it was previously reported that "Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales" will bring back original cast members Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom to the big screen. Both actors will be reprising their roles as Captain Jack Sparrow and William Turner, respectively.
It was also reported that actor Brenton Thwaites will be on board as Henry Turner, Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann's (Keira Knightley) son. Moreover, the upcoming "Pirates" sequel will introduce a new villain, Captain Salazar, who will be played by Javier Bardem.
In other news, "Pirates of the Caribbean" star Johnny Depp has made a surprise appearance at Disney's D23 Expo on Friday. According to The Wrap, Depp was honored as one of the members of 2015 Disney Legends.
"I don't know why I'm here," Depp jested when he took the stage at the Anaheim Convention Center in California, IMDB News quoted.
The Disney Legends are members of an exclusive group selected by the company for their contributions to the Walt Disney Brand. Aside from Depp, George Lucas, Danny Elfman and Susan Lucci were also among the inductees who were given the honor. They will also received a sculpture signifying their contributions to Disney and had their handprints cast in bronze, which will be displayed in the Disney Legends Plaza in Burbank.
"Today we add several new Legends to this elite group," Disney CEO Bob Iger said. "They are an indelible part of our legacy."
"Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales" will be navigating its way to theaters on July 7, 2017.
