"Supergirl" fans may let their excitement skyrocket now that the upcoming highly anticipated action-drama has revealed some of the villains that Supergirl will have to defeat as it airs on CBS come Oct. 26.
"Walking Dead" star and charmer Justice Leak who has already landed two previous roles in TV adaptations of comic books will portray Hellgramite, an entomologist who turns into a powerful superhuman with super-charged grasshopper-like leaping abilities and super-strength after performing several genetic mutation experiments on himself, Screenrant reported.
Meanwhile, "True Blood" star Brit Morgan has been introduced to give life to the character of Leslie Willis, a funny and cheerful assistant to Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) of CatCo media. Willis will face an accident that will transform her into the dangerous villain Livewire, making her "as dangerous and shocking as her words," as revealed by CBS.
Morgan is bound to join recently cast actor Chris Browning who will give life to Reactron/Ben Krull, a longtime adversary of Superman, aka Supergirl's cousin. Krull decided to go after Superman's family after he has been shamed to defeat by the adored Man of Steel in a previous adaptation of Superman.
According to Screenrant, CBS had no final words as to whether Morgan and Leak will have a one time guest spot or a recurring character in the show where Melissa Benoist will star as Supergirl/Kara Zor-El. It was, however, confirmed that fans will witness action-filled fights between Reactron and Supergirl in the show's first season.
Meanwhile, the CW Network explained that it left the series to be aired by sister network CBS because they wanted to focus on presenting programs to its wide array of viewers, the Daily News reported. CW Network president Mark Pedowitz said that they already had two DC properties and had no intention of doing another show based on the comic book fandom.
