As "Scorpion" Season 2 returns this fall, new cast and some love issues are set to be unveiled. While the first season ended when Paige Dineen (Katharine McPhee) admitted her feelings for Walter O'Brien (Elyes Gabel) and kissed him while he was asleep in the hospital, the upcoming season will depict their love story further.
Aside from romance, additional cast members will be introduced in "Scorpion" Season 2. According to Entertainment Weekly, "The Last Ship" star Travis Van Winkle will be joining the "Scorpion" cast this season. He will be cast as Ensign Nathan Hall, the character who'll have a clash with Walter and his Scorpion team.
Van Winkle's character, who will appear on the fourth episode of "Scorpion" Season 2, will give some spice on the series as he's described as someone who's "smart, loyal and determined, with a true respect for Team Scorpion and the job they do."
Also joining the cast will be "Kiss" lead singer Gene Simmons, Vine Report revealed. His second season appearance was announced at the Comic-Con event and was made by "Scorpion" executive producer Nicholas Wootton.
Alana De la Garza, portraying the role of new Director of Homeland Security Adriana Molina, will also be reunited with team when a nuclear powered Russian satellite is knocked out of orbit and must be diverted before it detonates over Southern California in "Scorpion" Season 2, CBS noted.
Meanwhile, "Scorpion" Season 2 will continue as Walter and Paige, Happy (Jadyn Wong) and Toby (Eddie Kaye Thomas) are still struggling in admitting their feelings toward each other. It will also follow the events of the first season's finale, where Walter is placed in a morphine-induced coma as he struggles between life and death.
Other than the nuclear crisis, Walter and Paige will finally be sorting out their love issues after Paige was seen kissing unconscious Walter in the hospital, as per International Business Times. She also managed to admit the feelings she had for him. But in "Scorpion" Season 2, Wootton told TV Guide that the timid lovers will have their first full cognizant kiss in the series.
The upcoming season will also depict Sylvester's (Ari Stidham) challenging love life as his girl is dying and will be placed in a position outside of his comfort zone in many ways. Walter's first-ever pal, Ray (Kevin Weissman), out Scorpion will also be introduced in the show.
"Scorpion" Season 2 will have a 90-minute episode on Sept. 21 at 9 p.m. until 11 p.m. on CBS. The extended episode will follow "Supergirl's" premiere on the same network.
