Veronica Roth's "Divergent: Allegiant" might consider changes regarding its finale as suggested by film watchers. Warning: this article might contain spoilers for the upcoming movie; read at own risk.

Readers who were able to follow the "Divergent" trilogy should not be surprised that Tris (Shailene Woodley) will sacrifice herself and bite the dust. However, some of the moviegoers are demanding a brighter future for Tris and Four's (Theo James) love story. Thus, wanting to see an alternate ending.

Much for the demand, they united and even filed a petition on Change.org, entitled, "Let Tris Live in the last 'Divergent' movie." As of this moment, the petition has more than 1,000 supporters and still continues to persuade those who are hopeful.

With the petition being launched, will Veronica Roth let Tris live in the much awaited movie?

Perhaps not, as updates from Digital Spy revealed that lead actress Shailene Woodley agreed on Roth's decision to let the original story flow in its motion picture adaptation.

"I think that it's a beautiful decision that Veronica made. I mean, how often is it that somebody you really admire and who does take selfless risks every day ends up living," the actress said, according to Chinatopix.

Aside from Woodley, her co-star Theo James explained why the author should parallel the movie with the novel to make it "more natural."

"Tris' character is, it's all about self-sacrifice — It would be strange if you just saw Four and her in the end like smoking cigars and hanging out with their kids and their dog," he said.

Despite Roth's firm decision, fans are still hopeful that she might change his mind and let Tris and Four have a happily ever after.

Well, all we need to do is to cross our fingers and wait for any updates from the much awaited movie of next year.

Part 1 of "Divergent: Allegiant" kicks off in theaters on March 18, 2016 while Part 2 is set to premiere a year after.
