The Kardashian-Jenner clan faces another controversy as Caitlyn Jenner could face vehicular manslaughter charges that could lead to spending a year in prison.

Formerly known as Bruce, the decathlon champion and the reality star was involved in a fatal car accident in Malibu, CA on Feb 7. The car crash resulted in the demise of 69-year-old Kim Howe.

According to Detective Richard Curry, the investigation result will be submitted to the District Attorney's Office until next week to further examine if the recommended manslaughter charges should either be considered or justified, CNN reported.

Apart from the detective, LA County Sheriff representative Nicole Nishida said that authorities found evidence that Jenner was indeed "driving unsafe for the prevailing road conditions," as quoted from Fox News.

The District Attorney's Office is yet to comment on the case.

Should the result prove that Jenner be guilty as charged, she might be sent behind bars for a year.

Notably, Jenner was driving her Cadillac Escalade when she tried to halt in time but was not lucky enough to avoid a Toyota Prius and a Lexus. The latter vehicle, which was driven by the 69-year old victim, crushed into a Hummer and got killed in the incident.

The fatal vehicular accident occurred when Jenner was in her transitional period from being Bruce.

After the crash, Howe's family with another unidentified woman who were also involved in the crash filed a lawsuit against Jenner, according to USA Today. Jenner, on the other hand, immediately cooperated with the local authorities by undergoing and passing sobriety test and even submitted a blood sample.

The former athlete and "I Am Cait" star gave a statement shortly after the unexpected event, "My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident."

Meanwhile, Jenner's family are also yet to made a statement regarding the news.
