Bethesda Focuses On 'Fallout 4,' Delays 'The Elder Scrolls 6' Launch & Targets Four Releases For 2015 & 2016 Excluding 'Skyrim's' Sequel

Bethesda Softworks will reportedly delay the release of "The Elder Scrolls 6" because they will be focusing on "Fallout 4." The company is also aiming for four releases a year, including 2015, but the "Skyrim" sequel is not part of the list.
Bethesda's Vice President of Marketing Pete Hines confirmed during the 2015 Gamescom event in Cologne, Germany that the release of "The Elder Scrolls 6" was delayed indefinitely saying it is "a very long time away."
"The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim" was released in 2011, according to the Inquisitr. It has been more than five years, and fans are reportedly disappointed by the recent news.
Despite the fact that the company has been renewing the trademark "Redguard" for "The Elder Scroll 6" since 2011 — yes, that's the same year "Skyrim" was released — there are less indications from the company and even the VP himself whether the 6th installment in "The Elder Scrolls" franchise will be next in line.
A couple of weeks before the announcement was made, there were speculations that "Argonia" will be the next title of "The Elder Scrolls 6" instead of "Redguard," and that the game is slated for an early 2016 release.
The company is planning on releasing four titles each year including 2015, Game Planet learned. There's no official line up for the games slated for 2016, but the site learned "Fallout 4," "Dishonored 2," "BattleCry" and "Doom" are all lined up for this year's release.
In an interview with MCV, Hines expressed his full confidence on the successor of "Fallout 3."
"I think this can top Skyrim," he said. "It could be our biggest release ever. But we will see."
With the announcement, it could mean that after the release of "Fallout 4," the company will be focusing on creating additional content, MNR Daily reported. This game could be the company's flagship so it only makes sense to shift their focus.
"Fallout 4" is slated for Nov. 10, 2015 release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC platforms. However, as for "The Elder Scrolls 6," fans will need to be a little more patient.
