"Dancing With the Stars" Season 21 fans are getting more excited as the show is set to make a television debut soon. And to kick off the upcoming season of the hit ABC dance reality showdown, they began to reveal the celebrities who'll be joining the competition. In a recent cast reveal, Aussie lass and the famous daughter of a croc hunter, Bindi Irwin, has been announced as the show's first celeb contestant.
While there have been a lot of celebrities that have been rumored to join "Dancing With the Stars" Season 21, one name has been officially announced. As posted on its official Facebook page, "DWTS" welcomed Bindi Irwin as their first contestant this season. According to E! News, Bindi is the 17-year-old daughter of the late "The Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin and wife Terri.
Currently residing on the grounds of the Australia Zoo with her mom and brother Robert, Bindi Irwin has been first seen on her father's show, "The Crocodile Hunter." She also became the host of a 26-part wildlife documentary show, "Bindi the Jungle Girl," which was a production of Discovery Kids.
Since Bindi Irwin has been involved in acting, singing, songwriting, dancing, game show hosting, rapping, and has created an instructional fitness DVD, she expressed her excitement to be on the "Dancing With the Stars" Season 21 dance floor during her interview with "Good Morning America."
"I'm really, really excited and so honored to be a part of this new journey and new chapter of my life," she said. "I have to tell you, this is completely different to anything I have ever done in my life. I'm used to wrangling crocodiles! I'm used to khaki and boots and I think it will always be a part of my life. We always say khaki just isn't a color, it's an attitude; it's a part of who we are. You can't just climb a tree or wrangle a snake in a dress very easily, so this is completely different. For me, 'Dancing With the Stars' has always been something I've admired."
Bindi Irwin also added that she has no dance experience at all and admitted that she is more afraid of the "DWTS" judges than the crocodiles she has seen. And to prepare for her stint in the upcoming "Dancing with the Stars" Season 21, People revealed Irwin is relocating to Los Angeles.
"I am unbelievably thrilled and truly blessed to be in the City of Angels to be part of this season of 'Dancing With the Stars,'" the animal rights advocate said in a statement. "This will be a completely new adventure for me and I'm excited to share my journey. Life is about daring to dream, I'm in love with this city and ready to fall in love with the music and dance to come."
Meanwhile, Bindi Irwin could be paired with pro-dancers Derek Hough, returning champ Val Chmerkovskiy, Artem Chigvintsev and Mark Ballas, who have been confirmed to return for "Dancing With the Stars" Season 21. Entertainment Weekly added that Karina Smirnoff will also be back.
In line with the recent "Dancing With the Stars" Season 21 cast reveal, the full list of celebrities will be announced Sept. 2 on "Good Morning America." While the new season will premiere on ABC on Sept. 14.
