LG went ahead of the 2015 IFA, which will be on Sept. 4-9 at Berlin, and unveiled the latest version of G Pad. According to Tech Crunch, the physical unit of LG G Pad II will not surface until electronics show, but the company has already teased the consumers with some of its specs.
Here are the deets about the LG G Pad II 10.1 that we know so far.
Under the Hood
The device will be powered by a quad-core 2.26 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. This is quite an upgrade, considering that the original G Pad has Snapdragon 400 at quad-core 1.2 GHz.
It has 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, which is expandable through a microSD slot. Its operating system is Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, Gizmodo reported.
Display & Camera
This version of G Pad will have a 10.1-inch display at 1920 x 1200 WUXGA, another step up from its original version, which is at 800 x 1280.
The rear will have 5MP, while the front camera will have 2MP.
Battery
LG G Pad II packs itself with a 7,400 mAh. Although this is much smaller compared with the first version, which is at 8000 mAh as per GSM Arena, it is still expected that the device will run for a day or so.
Other Features
LG G Pad II will reportedly have Kindle and Nook. It will also include the e-reading mode that will tone down the blue-light output, which will let you read for hours with no side effects (like headache).
Another good news is, LG will be giving out free stuffs — Microsoft Office for Android and the use of 100GB OneDrive storage for two years.
Reports about the pad's cover surfaced online, suggesting that it will be available only in bronze, for now.
Pricing & Availability
LG did not give any details of when the LG G Pad II 10.1 version will be available in the market. However, PC World found out, according to the company, that it will be released first in North America, Europe and Asia.
The company also said that the prices for LTE and Wi-Fi models will be divulged locally during the time of the launch.
