"Fast & Furious 8" is reportedly under way after the previous installment of the franchise earned more than $1 billion worldwide.

However, fans and critics are cautious about this sequel as "Furious 7" seemingly ended with genuine closure. Many are wondering if the series can continue following the death of one of its stars, Paul Walker.

As reported by Cinema Blend, Vin Diesel announced at CinemaCon recently and confirmed that "Fast & Furious 8" is indeed happening and has a target release date of April 14, 2017.

Diesel then further added during his interview on the "Jimmy Kimmel Show" that Mr. Nobody, played by none other than veteran actor Kurt Russel, could possibly return to the sequel.

Aussie actress Ruby Rose was also reportedly in talks to be cast on the upcoming "Furious 8" according to Australia Network News.

Rose was previously linked to the franchise' seventh installment but the production disagreed because she was told that she looks like teen-pop sensation, Justin Bieber. She achieved success after joining Netflix' hit series "Orange is The New Black".

Just two months ago, franchise director James Wan announced that Justin Bieber will take on the role of Brian O' Conner, the late Paul Walker's character, according to National Report.

The National Report said that an undisclosed source from Bieber's camp confirmed Wan's announcement. The pop star has been reportedly working out and "bulking up" as preparation for the role.

"Justin's currently training 5 days a week to acquire the physique that director James Wan is looking for. He'll be acting alongside much more physically imposing actors such as The Rock and Vin Diesel so it's important that Justin's body be up to par." said the undisclosed source. However, the site's report about Justin Bieber's involvement in the franchise should be taken with a grain of salt since the National Report is known for fabricating fictional stories.

Meanwhile, Dwayne Johnson, another "Fast & Furious" actor, is currently in talks to star in a possible movie spin-off.  "We all are interested in it. I just had a big conversation with the studio. So we'll see," The Rock said, as reported by ScreenRant.
