Despite "19 Kids and Counting's" cancellation, there is no denying that the Duggar family is still under the spotlight and even under the scrutiny of the show's many viewers. This week, the cancelled TLC reality series is once again getting some hate after irate letters from concerned viewers were leaked.
In mid-August, it was announced that "19 Kids and Counting" was cancelled, but it was only this Monday when more letters of outraged fans surfaced via the governmentattic.com. In the letters, viewers expressed their disappointment and anger in the wake of Josh Duggar's molestation scandal, according to Washington Post.
"Please force 19 Kids and Counting to be cancelled. The show is promoting deviant behaviour under the guise of Christianity. Thank you," a New York viewer wrote to the federal government.
"Dear FCC, I don't know where else to turn. I was lead [sic] to believe that 19 kids and counting was a wholesome family show ..." another concerned viewer from California noted.
On the other hand, since the network's decision to cancel the supposed-to-be family-oriented reality series, TLC has expressed its desire to move on by delivering content "with a heart."
"Our shows need to have an element of OMG, but have to deliver on the heart," TLC general manager Nancy Daniels was quoted as saying in a recent interview with Fortune.
The network was under fire in the recent months leading to the cancellation of "19 Kids and Counting" because it took a while before it slashed Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's family show from its lineup. Many advertisers fled amid the controversial scandal Josh Duggar got involved in when the Ashley Madison hack was put under the microscope.
Meanwhile, despite the controversial issues her family is facing, Jessa Duggar has revealed to People that she focuses on her faith more than anything at this point in their lives. "You just have to keep your focus and trust God," Jessa said, with Ben Seewald chiming in, "You have to stay true to yourself and your foundation."
