Followers of football star player Cristiano Ronaldo are aware that he makes double digit goals in his game matches for every season. But, as the 2015 season started he registered zero goal after two matches between Real Betis and Sporting Gijon.
Nada, nil, 0! It's a disturbing number for the Real Madrid player which led many to think: Should fans be concerned about Ronaldo?
According to SB Nation, goal tallies for Cristiano Ronaldo since he joined Real Madrid were as follows: 33, 64, 53, 57, 60, 54.These numbers were taken across all matches in every season.
For any other player, this incident would not be taken seriously and would be brushed aside as a temporary glitch in another sterling record of goal tabs. However, the player in the spotlight is the celebrated Cristiano Ronaldo, and knowing his skill and caliber, the scarcity of goals can not be simply dismissed.
Fortunately, his team mates were able to deliver and bring Real Madrid to victory. However, Ronaldo is and will be the center point of the offense. The next time around, he will likely make one or two goals. So, there's really no debate about his performance this weekend. Even better, it was also an eye opener for Real Madrid fans to see the young players prove themselves and that in an inevitable scenario of football without star player Cristiano Ronaldo, they will find a way to prosper the team.
In the meantime, Bleacher Report revealed Cristiano Ronaldo has been defended by Rafael Benitez, his manager, from criticisms which arose from his failure to create a goal in Real Madrid's first two season matches.
Benitez remarked, "He's the one who had the most shots on goal, just like in Gijon and that is positive. Nobody doubts his quality. He's going to score a lot of goals as long as the team creates chances."
James Rodriguez, Cristiano Ronaldo's team mate in Real Madrid also came to his defense and believed that he will bounce back and be at his best in the upcoming matches, as per Soccerladuma.co.za.
Catch Cristiano Ronaldo on his upcoming football matches and find out if he has shrugged off the number zero.
