Josh Duggar's Mental Health UPDATE: '19 Kids And Counting' Star Observed For Possible Self-Inflicted Harm

"19 Kids and Counting" reality star Josh Duggar has hogged the limelight these past few weeks when he was dragged into the Ashley Madison hack scandal. It also seems that the person brought up in a religious family has some mental health issues regarding his sexual deviation. First, there was the molestation issue and the next bombshell was of him cheating on his wife Anna Duggar.
Josh is currently in a faith-based rehab facility in Rockford, Illinois' Reformers Unanimous where he checked himself in after his name came up from among those who had an account with the cheating site.
Hollywood Life reported that Josh Duggar has been skipping required church services in the rehab. Is that a cause for alarm that he is shying away from the crowd? Should he be observed for a possible self-inflicted harm?
According to Steven Ornstein, addiction expert, it is important to subject the "19 Kids and Counting" star to a psychiatric evaluation in order to conclude if he could potentially inflict harm upon himself.
"Josh Duggar is a sick man who needs professional help from licensed therapists and doctors. If not, his life could be in danger," Ornstein exclusively told Hollywood Life.
He further added that it is important for a rehab facility to have medical experts on hand. Josh Duggar requires a psychiatric evaluation to determine and update his mental health status.
"Josh could be suffering from a severe mental illness; he could be suicidal," explained Ornstein.
Aside from dealing with the issues which led him to molest his sisters Jessa and Jill as well as five other young girls when he was a teenager, Duggar, 27, could also be suffering from severe bouts of depression brought about by losing his job, hurting his wife by way of his cheating being bared to the public and most importantly, by how he has let the whole Duggar clan down and has brought shame to his church.
The addiction expert also said, "Addiction is a mental health problem, NOT a spiritual problem. What Josh did was evil. But who he is is a sick guy. For his family and or extended family members to attack him and call him 'evil' is judgmental, ignorant and not helpful at all."
A number of extended Duggar family members have recently came out in public and called Josh evil.
Meanwhile, sister Jill Duggar Dillard broke her silence by way of a blog post on social media after her brother's admission that he cheated on his wife. According to E! News, Jill, 24, gave an update on their Christian mission as well as the short message pertaining to what her family was going through. She wrote: "August has been a busy month for us and as so many of you know it has ended on a sad note for my extended family. Please do pray for our family. We are so thankful for God's grace during difficult days."
Jill and her husband Derick together with their son currently resides in El Salvador and serve as Christian missionaries, as per Daily Mail.
