Although July hiring was the best for the country since February, it still did not make a dent in helping the 12.8 million Americans who are still unemployed.
According to The Labor Department, the unemployment rate force to 8.3 percent from 8.2 percent in June.
High unemployment could possibly hurt President Barack Obama's re-election hopes. Not since World War II has a president faced re-election with the national unemployment rate over 8 percent.
In recent polls, Americans have favored Mitt Romney over Obama due to Romney's business experience at Bain Capital.
Some Americans have even come to question president Obama's knowledge of business since according to some reports he has never actually worked a real job and is a "career politician" while Bain Capital may not have the best reputation in business ethics, Romney did do well for himself while he worked for the company.
Soon after the Labor Department, announced the jobless rate at 8.3, Romney released a statement shortly after.
Romney says Americans deserve better than an unemployment rate that has been above 8 percent for more than three years. He says President Barack Obama doesn't have a plan to boost economic growth.
Romney claims his economic plan would create 12 million new jobs by the end of his term in office.
