"Five Nights at Freddy's," the critically acclaimed horror indie game, is now on its fourth instalment. The surprise success of this game has made a lot of fans happy while its critics were caught off guard.
According to the Christian Post, with the series reaching its fourth game this year, creator Scott Cawthon posted an announcement on Steam saying that a demo of a new game he's working on will be released together with the free update for "Five Nights at Freddy's"
The free update for "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" includes a cheat menu for the game, a mini-game twist and a challenge menu that gives players more chance to earn stars.
Fittingly, the release of the demo of his new game and the update for "Five Nights" will coincide with Halloween.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Cawthon's statement on Steam also mentions the "mysterious box." Since the game's release last year, fans have speculated about the content of the box.
Some found it to be empty, but according to Cawthon "... No one, not a single person, found the pieces. The story remains completely hidden. I guess most people assumed that I filled the game with random Easter eggs this time. I didn't," Cawthorn wrote on Steam. "I've decided that maybe some things are best left forgotten, forever."
The success of the horror indie game continues as it has been announced last April that a movie based on the game is underway.
According to Realty Today, Cawthorn and director, Gil Kenan are already collaborating with each other to develop the practical effects.
As per sources, Kenan will also write the film, and he also said that the movie should keep away from using too much computer generated imagery.
However, the fans may be excited, but they're also thinking that the film may fail as live adaptations of video games are usually unsuccessful.
But the game creator assured fans to not worry. Cawthon stated that he will stay hands-on during the production and all of the elements that made the game popular will be in the movie.
