The iconic "Flintstones" House in Hillsborough can be seen when you're driving on Interstate 280 in the San Francisco Bay Area. The estate, which has piqued the curiosity of those who passed by the highway, is now up for sale for the whooping price of $4.2 Million.

Although the exterior of the house looked prehistoric, it's architecture depicted otherwise. The 2,730-square-foot house has three unique bedrooms and two bathrooms. The iconic Flintstones House's kitchen was skillfully designed by architect Eugene Tsui, the custom glass made by John Lewis Glass Studio and the steel-coiled doors were done by Dan Das Mann, "Burning Man" artist.

Much hype and buzz surrounded the revelation of the property's listing on the market, not because of people interested in purchasing it, but mainly because of their enthusiasm to take a peek of what's inside the 39-year-old iconic "Flintstones" House, Realtor.com reported.

According to Time, the up-for-sale property was designed and built in 1976 by architect William Nicholson. Although the "Flintstones" House may look outdated at present time, at that time and era, building the house was already an innovation. So, how how were they able to achieve the house's exterior? This was done by drizzling concrete over a mesh wire moulded by balloons.

Meuschke told NBC Bay Area that the asking price of $4.2 million was "a pretty good price for a landmark."

The present owner, a woman, who chose to remain confidential, bought the property in 1996 for $800,000 and is selling it to simply move on after 19 years.

Hold your horses though, there are no open house events, so if you wanted to take a closer look at the iconic "Flintstones" House, call realtor Judy Meuschke for an appointment. Meanwhile head on to NBC Bay Area and watch the video of her giving Ian Cull of NBC news a tour inside.
