‘The Transporter: Refueled’ SPOILERS, Reviews: Box Office Blunder?

"The Transporter: Refueled," the latest movie of the "Transporter" franchise came crashing at the box office.
The movie, previously led by actor Jason Statham, features a new lead actor named Ed Skrein. According to Forbes, "The Transporter: Refueled" attempts of extending a star-driven franchise without the "star" resulted in less-than-fortunate results.
One of the big reasons the action franchise was a hit was because of Jason Statham's presence. EuropaCorp, the studio who produced the movie, offered Statham the role but he respectfully declined. Ed Skrein was more than happy to fill in for the role, but sadly, it did not yield EuropaCorp's intended results.
"The Transporter" movie revolves around a man who does driving and delivery jobs that no other man accepts to do. And since this is an action movie, it's usually of an illegal nature.
The latest movie features a young woman named Anna, played by Loan Chabanol, sold into sexual slavery, and finally finds a way to get out of her predicament against a villain so vile.
According to WWLP.com, Jason Statham was hoping to reconsider his decision and return for the role since Skrein was described as "bland" and has "absolutely no charisma."
One criticism about the new "The Transporter: Refueled" actor is his "flat and deadpan delivery" of an otherwise, cool character.
However, not everything is bad about the movie as Ryan Stevenson's performance, was hailed as the saving grace.
As reviewed by Consequence of Sound, the new "Transporter" movie features crisp action scenes and interesting characters.
Chabanol's character of a femme-fatale-turned-movie-heroine was appropriate, however, critics find that she has little to do compared to Skrein's character.
The new "Transporter" movie does what it intends to do — a mind-numbing action movie made to make time wasting fun.
