Apple is building a campus on the 38-acre wooded lot in Austin, Texas. Once the construction is completed, the tech-giant will have it's 1.1 million square feet space, which includes restaurants, a gym and a wellness center, ABC7 reported.

The company also stated that it will be spending $282 million for the development of the new seven-building campus, including the equipment, over the next ten years.

Apple reportedly swore to create 3,600 new jobs and retain the existing 3,100 jobs. The company will also receive a $35 million tax incentive from the city, county and the state.

"Austin has always been a voice and proponent of diversity and inclusiveness," Apple's head of human resources Denise Young Smith said.

"And there is also diversity in terms of talent, including the music and artistic community," she continued. "We like that cross-pollination, and the job candidates that have been able to hire because of it."

Mark McClain, CEO of SailPoint and chairman of the Austin Technology Council, said that the Austin expansion will help produce a new group of superior talents.

Currently, Apple has completed four buildings. According to MacRumors, the Cupertino-based company is moving swiftly towards the completion of the project, with its three remaining buildings expected to be finished within a year.

The construction of the entire new campus is expected to be completed in 2016. Other than the restaurants, coffee shops, the gym and the wellness center, the campus will also have medical, dental and eye care, acupuncture and massage services.

The Austin campus will take care of Apple's business operations in the Western hemisphere, as per the report of DailyMailTimes.

It has also been reported that Apple purchased a neighbouring 350,000 square feet area it had been leasing.

Apple is indeed moving forward, continuing its development despite the ongoing sluggish economic growth in the China market.
