Ellen DeGeneres, the Emmy Award-winning host, recently made an interesting confession during her interview with radio host Howard Stern. She revealed her worst experience in life, her thoughts on Caitlyn Jenner and shared some details on her "American Idol" Season 9 stint in 2010.

During her interview that aired Tuesday, Ellen DeGeneres candidly spoke about how she hated being an "American Idol" judge, People noted.

"Yes, that's one of the worst decisions I've made," the 57-year-old talk show host said. And when Stern asked her why she took the job five years ago, Ellen DeGeneres honestly explained, "As a fan of the shows, it doesn't matter that I sing or I know anything about pitch or anything, I'm like everybody else at home. It's American Idol and you're watching and you're a fan. So I thought, 'I'm going to represent these people at home that have opinions and like somebody or don't.' But then I just thought, 'I can't break this person's heart. Let somebody else do that.'"

Unfortunately, Ellen DeGeneres was not the first "American Idol" judge to slam FOX's singing competition. According to Us Weekly, former "AI" judge Mariah Carey had said in May that she didn't want to be involved with the competition again, calling the show "fake" and the "worst experience of her career."

"I mean, it's so boring and so fake," Carey said during her "Kyle & Jackie O Show" interview on Australian radio station KIIS-FM 1065 in May, as per E! News. "I'm sorry, I just think it's, you know, when I say it's fake, I mean, it's just like, you have to make up things to say about people... That was the worst experience of my life. I'm not going to get into what it was, but let's just say I don't think they had any intentions for us to have a good experience doing that show."

Meanwhile, Ellen DeGeneres did not only share her thoughts about her "AI" experience. She also spoke about how Caitlyn Jenner's views on same-sex marriage during her appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" surprise her.

"She still has a judgment about gay marriage," DeGeneres told Stern. "She goes, 'Well, if the word marriage is that important...' And I was like, 'It is. Because that's the word.' We want the same thing, everybody."

Despite her confusion about Jenner's statements, Ellen DeGeneres said the interview was great and wished that Jenner will find happiness.

"I want her to be happy, which is what I want for her, for me," DeGeneres said.
