"Key & Peele," the beloved Comedy series, has just ended. Critics and fans however, are saying it has gone too soon.
As stated by the A.V Club, "Key & Peele" is not just a funny show; it's also an intelligent one. A rarity among TV shows nowadays.
Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, both of "MadTV" fame, have become iconic comedians on their own and not just "those guys" from the previous show.
"Key & Peele" started in 2012 and after 5 hilarious seasons, both of them decided that it's time to go. There are questions whether the show will leave its mark, and as LaToya Ferguson of A.V Club has said, their show is a "pure classic."
According to E! Online, the ending of "Key & Peele" left them unprepared even though they've known how it will go.
The final episode of the series shows characters Meegan and Andre, together in their car at the middle of the dessert shouting their signature "biiiiiiiitch," and then driving back where they came from.
The finale was also reported to be consisting of hour of sketches about a variety of topics. Among them are "Ray Parker," "Deez Nuts," and a controversial magical utopia called, "Negrotown" that portrays a world where police brutality due to race, does not exist.
According to a Grantland article about the show, they hailed it as the third greatest American show of the Golden Age of television that satirizes race and racism. Among them are "Chappele's Show" and "30 Rock."
"Key & Peele's" appeal was so massive and popular that a character from one their skits, "Luther," has even been invited to the White House as the president's "Anger Translator."
Indeed, the show ended a little bit too soon, but the legacy of Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele is already been cemented.
