Ellie Goulding, the British Indie Pop singer, is having a great 2015 so far. But the singer states that there was a time that she was close to losing it all.
Goulding started the year with a bang with the release of her single, "Love Me Like You Do" for the "Fifty Shades of Grey" soundtrack.
According to Billboard, Goulding recently geared up for the NFL Kickoff Concert, saying that she will also take this opportunity to learn more about the American sport.
"I know so little," she said Tuesday during a phone interview after arriving in San Francisco. "I know the Super Bowl is being held here. I know that it's a huge thing. See, sport is big in the U.K. I'm quite into the English version of football. I support Chelsea, but it's on a whole different scale here."
According to an interview by REFINERY29, Goulding is expected to release an album later this year. When asked what to expect, Goulding said "It's summery. It's pop-y and it's got a summer feeling, but it's more of an end-of-summer feeling. It's kind of heartbreaking at times, but it's also uplifting."
As reported by Digital Spy, Goulding said, "I have a song on the album that is called 'Two Years'. It's about two years ago, which is before I met my boyfriend," She is, of course, referring to McBusted star Dougie Poynter.
The British singer also spoke about how she struggled with fame, success and being away from home, but said she's not in trouble anymore.
She says that she went through a phase of being on tour and found herself having difficulties of not being home. Goulding further added she's struggling with having a number one song.
Goulding also talked about a time when she battled drinking and her difficulties of dealing with anything; however, now that she's out of that situation, she now claims that it became clearer that she was in trouble back then.
Apart from that, Goulding will also perform at the Apple Music Festival later this September. Take That, Mumford & Sons, One Direction and Little Mix are also performing at the event.
