This fall, several hit shows are set premiere on primetime television and one of which is ABC's "Castle" Season 8. As previously reported, several unexpected turn of events will shake the lives of the crime-busting couple Rick Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Kate Beckett (Stana Katic).

In "Castle" Season 8, Rick and Kate's struggles will be the main focus of the series, International Business Times noted. The power couple will be facing some challenges as they try to adjust to their lives since Beckett will assume the responsibilities of being the new captain while Castle will go head to head with daughter Alexis (Molly Quinn) in the private investigation firm.

As Beckett celebrates her promotion with husband Rick, she won't be around the precinct for a while as is set to disappear in the premiere of "Castle" Season 8, which will air a dual-perspective two-hour episode. According to Vine Report, the premiere episodes will be titled, "XY" and "XX," and will follow through Castle and Beckett's perspectives, respectively.

Beckett's life will also be in danger as she runs for her life after a team of mercenaries are after her. Castle, on the other hand, will do his best to find his wife and investigate the incident, TVLine reported.

"After passing the Captain's exam in the Season 7 finale, Beckett was surprised with an offer to run for State Senate," the synopsis of the first two episodes read, as per Entertainment Weekly. "In the action packed season premiere, Castle and Beckett are adjusting to Beckett's career change, when a call from a mysterious stranger sets off an explosive chain of events. There are two sides to every story, and this unique two-parter will explore the same story from each of their perspectives, first from Castle's side as he searches for Beckett in the exciting Season 8 premiere."

Fortunately, the newly-released photos from the second part of the two-episode premiere on Tuesday revealed that Beckett is alive and well after her ordeal.

"In part two of last week's Season 8 premiere, Beckett's side of her abrupt disappearance is revealed," the synopsis from part two read. "After receiving a mysterious tip from her past, Beckett is launched into a fight for her life, with a team of mercenaries hot on her trail. While Castle investigates why his wife is on the run, Beckett must figure out who wants her dead, before they can finish the job."

In other news, Sunkrish Bala and Ann Cusack are slated to join the cast of "Castle" Season 8. Bala will be playing the role of tech analyst Vikram Singh and Cusack will play as someone with a "unique set of skills" and who has a "surprising connection to Castle."

"Castle" Season 8 will premiere on Monday, Sept. 21 at 10 p.m. on ABC.
