Selena Gomez has been the topic of headlines recently, and many can't seem to get over with the controversy surrounding her relationship with former love Justin Bieber. Is there still a chance or is it totally over?
Gomez admitted, during her interview with Elle magazine, that she would forever love and support Bieber. However, the "Good For You" singer clarified that they are now just good friends, Us Weekly learned.
"We grew up together. I think people want it to be different... [but] I respect him. And I think he respects me, in a healthy manner," Gomez, 23, said, according to The Hollywood Life,
The "Same Old Love" songstress may never know what the future holds for her and the "What Do You Mean?" singer. However, she's certain that right now, she wanted to move on.
Everybody saw Gomez becoming really emotional during her performance with "The Heart Wants What It Wants," and apparently, that marks her moving on.
"Everybody was talking about the same thing: my relationship," she told Elle. "I was so exhausted."
"I said, I want this [performance] to be the last time I have to talk about this," she continued. "This is gonna be it. And all I want is to move on."
The experience deeply affected Gomez, who admitted that she has got her guard up. People found out that she has been on a few dates, but didn't want to get into anything serious because her focus right now isn't about finding somebody.
If there's one person who proud of what Gomez has become — taking ownership of her life and making creative decisions — that would be her BFF Taylor Swift.
"It isn't easy for her to put herself out there, knowing that a lot of the media will try and twist her lyrics into a headline about her ex-boyfriend. She doesn't care anymore," the "Wildest Dreams" singer said.
