Accidents may happen all the time. It is inevitable no matter where you are or whatever you are doing. According to business and industry portal, "A hazard is something with the potential to cause harm." So to keep away to these hazards, the key is to understand it, know what to do about it, and to have focus.
Workplace hazards involving the risks of injury and illness include:
- Substance and chemical hazards such as asbestos, lead and waste management.
- Infectious diseases and biological hazards like hendra and legionella virus.
- Physical hazards such as electrical hazard, working at heights, and equipment.
- Environmental hazards such as lighting, noise, cold, heat stress, and dust.
- Phychosocial hazards like work-related stress, fatigue, occupational violence, and workplace harassment.
