“The Girl on the Train” cast update suggested that “Suicide Squad’s” Joker, Jared Leto and “Captain America” lead Chris Evans, may add glitz and glamour to the Emily Blunt starrer — Paula Hawkins bestseller movie adaptation.
“The Girl on the Train” centers on Emily Blunt’s character, Rachel, an alcoholic and without a job who spends her daily train ride daydreaming about the apparently perfect couple residing in a house that she passes by.
One night she came home bathed in blood and unable to recall what happened after losing consciousness after a drinking episode. She realizes that either she witnessed a crime or was involved in one.
Joining Emily Blunt in the movie adaptation of Paula Hawkins’ bestseller, “The Girl on the Train,” are Rebecca Ferguson who plays Anna, Rachel’s ex-husband’s former mistress and current wife and Haley Bennett who will portray Megan, the married neighbor who is Rachel’s obsession.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed that if scheduling would work out for “Suicide Squad’s” The Joker, Jared Leto and “Captain America” Chris Evans, the two would play Scott, the neighbor’s husband and Tom, Rachel’s ex-husband respectively.
If you’re by any account worried that Leto and Evans would have difficulty mastering the British accents, don’t fret, because Pop Sugar has learned that the movie will not be set in London, but rather New York.
Despite the change in setting, “The Girl on the Train” lead star, Emily Blunt, will still play Rachel as British. She disclosed to BBC: "It's moved to New York but I'm going to play her as British, that was a decision Tate and I made recently." Tate Taylor is the director of the movie adaptation of Paula Hawkins’ bestseller.
Emily Blunt was in London to promote “Sicario,” her latest film and she added that she wanted to make her character, Rachel, her own.
“The Girl on the Train” by bestselling author Paula Hawkins is set for a 2016 release.
