"Hitman" diehards will have to wait a little bit longer for the release of the game as it was moved to March 2016. This news came in via a blog post.
The post stated that "Hitman," which will be published by Square Enix, was the biggest venture IO Interactive had undertaken, in terms of scope, ambition and the size of the game world. The areas playable and the location's density go beyond what the studio has created before.
"On top of that, we're going for a new release model where we put out a good chunk of the game when it begins and then release the remaining locations over time," the blog release news stated.
The statement added that within those few extra months, they would be able to add more to the launch content — more than what was originally planned. The studio aims to create a better game for everyone.
To give a better sense of scale on the new locations of the game IO Interactive posted an infographic comparison, according to IGN. The level size comparison was between the largest level in "Hitman: Absolution," Streets of Hope and one of the levels in the new "Hitman," Paris-The Showstopper.
Apparently, Paris-The Showstopper is six times larger in size and potential targets in Contracts Mode. There's also 100 accidents waiting to happen, 70 challenges, 60 rooms in the palace itself and 25 unique areas in and around the palace.
The new "Hitman" content model will not have microtransactions and paid DLC, as per the report of iDigtial Times. It was also reported that the game will be continuously improved and changed while it is being played, stating that the studio's desire is to have a stream content available until the story arc is finished.
The delay on "Hitman's" release date applies to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam, Engadget reported.
