Tom Hardy Next Wolverine? Hugh Jackman Thinks Hardy Would 'Be A Great Wolverine' [RUMORS]

Tom Hardy is the new "Wolverine." At least that's what Hugh Jackman wants if allowed to have his way.
As reported by People, it seems that Hugh Jackman's 15-year stint as the ferocious hero Wolverine is coming to an end. And if he's the one in charge, he would like to pass the adamantium to one of Hollywood's current leading stars.
"He's younger than me for sure, I think Tom Hardy would be a great Wolverine," Jackman said.
It's not hard to imagine Hardy for the role as he's closer to Wolverine's actual description. If fans may recall, one of the criticisms for Jackman before as the clawed superhero was that he's too tall.
But with Hardy's shorter and stockier build, fans and critics can imagine him being the next Wolverine. In addition, Hardy can also perform a fighting style that mixes grace and pure savagery, just like Wolverine.
Hugh Jackman, however, is not yet exactly ready to give out the role, Variety has learned. Although he named his possible successor, he said that, "I haven't really given it a lot of thought, I've been asked that question a lot, and I'm always like, 'I don't wanna make it too easy on the studio to replace me,' you know?"
Jackman added, "I've still got one more to do. I'm sure they're already talking about it, and there's some actor [they've told] 'shh, keep it quiet but we want you next.'"
According to Cinema Blend, Hardy's track record as a comic book character is worth noting too, as one of his famous recent roles include being the Batman villain, Bane.
However, Wolverine isn't the only potential role for Hardy. As buried between Marvel's ongoing casting for "Doctor Strange," rumors are saying that Tom Hardy is being "courted" for the title role in "X-Men: Apocalypse."
But no matter what role Hardy lands, one thing is for sure, he can and always will deliver.
"X-Men: Apocalypse" is aiming for a May 27, 2016 release.
