Finally, an update for “Kingsman 2” has arrived in our midst this week, but there is no denying that it came rather late than expected given that the first installment, “Kingsman: The Secret Service,” rocked the box office after turning out to be a surprising hit.

According to We Got This Covered, "Kingsman," which earned $400 million at the worldwide box office, is slated to get a second installment in 2017, with Matthew Vaughn already working on the script of the new movie, which is based on Mark Miller and Davie Gibbons' comic book.

Vaughn has already revealed that an American version of the titular secret service would be featured in "Kingsman 2," but there is still no word yet on the main focus of the second movie.

There is also the big question on whether or not Colin Firth is returning to the second film after his character, Harry Hart, was shot by Samuel Jackson's Valentine.

On the IMDb message board for the upcoming flick, fans are speculating that Firth could possibly return to the film as Harry Hart if it is going to be a prequel. If it's a sequel, one fan theorized that Firth's character may have been cloned and is now a villain to Taron Egerton's Gary "Eggsy" Unwin.

Soufia Boutella also did well in portraying Gazelle, but her character was obviously just as dead as Samuel L. Jackson's, so they are surely not appearing in "Kingsman 2" unless the movie gets the prequel treatment.

Filming for "Kingsman 2" is expected to commence in April 2016, as per ScreenRant. Hopefully, when the time comes, lead star Egerton is done with his Lionsgate project, "Robin Hood: Origins," which is reportedly starting its production in February 2016.

While it's good that Egerton was catapulted to fame because of "Kingsman," his engagements in other projects have reportedly caused the scheduling delay for Fox's "Kingsman 2."

However, Cinemablend has learned that "Robin Hood: Origins" is already "much further along in development" compared to Fox's "Kingsman 2." The former is already in the casting process for the secondary characters, which could mean an earlier start date for the movie's production and a bigger chance that Egerton would be available for "Kingsman 2" when he is needed to focus on the project.
