NYCC 2015 or the New York City Comic-Con 2015 opened on Thursday. Participants of the event include big names from the entertainment industry, television and film studios showcasing their series and movies, cosplayers, anime creators and more.
Not only that. New York Comic-Con 2015 also host showcases for brands like AT&T, Chevrolet and Pepsi, AdWeek learned.
"In New York City, there are very few venues and events that take place that really attract millennials," Todd Reynolds, marketing manager from the Northeast region for Chevrolet, said.
AT&T will reportedly be presenting sponsors to the main stage, and PepsiCo will be launching its upcoming "Pepsi Perfect" bottles, a limited edition inspired by "Back to the Future II" at the event.
"We felt that based upon the demographics and age groups that were attending, it would be ideal for consumers we were trying to reach," he added.
NYCC 2015 day one already kicked off, and some of the highlights that appeal to several fan communities, as reported by Forbes, was the panel for "Game of Thrones." Afterwards, Masashi Kishimoto, creator of "Naruto," made his first appearance outside the land of the rising sun for a panel interview.
What's in store for attendees in the coming days?
First up is the panel for DC Comics' "Dark Knight." The graphic novel "The Dark Knight Returns" is celebrating its 30th anniversary.
The event will take place between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. at Main Stage 1-D, and many fans are hopeful that Frank Miller will make an appearance for the panel. Happening the same time, in Room 1B03, is the 75 Spirited Years: Will Eisner & The Spirit.
Felicia Day Spotlight will happen at Empire Stage 1-E, scheduled from 2:45 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Felicia Day, dubbed as Queen of the Geeks, is expected to make an appearance for the panel.

ReedPOP, the group that organizes the NYCC 2015 event, expects a growth 15,000 from last year's attendance, which was approximately 151,000, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The organizers had to open the nearby Hammerstein Ballroom because Javits Center can no longer fully accommodate the growing NYCC crowd.
The New York Comic-Con 2015 runs from Oct. 8 - 11, 2015.
