Sony RX1R II Slated For November Release; Premium Digital Camera's Specs, Features, & Price Details Revealed

Sony RX1R II has been announced at a small event in New York City, and according to tech critics, it could be the ultimate pocket-sized camera.

RX1R II is reportedly the newest addition to Sony's RX1 line of compact, full-frame sensor camera. Before its November release, here are the specs, features and price details that the company revealed about their latest premium digital shooter.

Sony RX1R II features a 42.4-megapixel, full-frame, Exmor R CMOS sensor. It has a 35mm (f2.0) ZEISS Sonnar T fixed lens, and though, it doesn't have the ability to shoot 4K like RX100 and A7S II, it still has an option to film up to 1080p at 24, 30 and 60 fps.

The ISO reportedly ranges from 100-25,600, and is expandable to 50-102,400. Sony has done a couple of things to upgrade data transmission speed, and according to The Verge, this model is 3.5 times faster than RX1R.

The autofocus of Sony RX1R II is also reportedly 30 percent faster. Engadget that it also features a 2.4-million-dot XGA OLED viewfinder as well as the "world's first" optical variable low-pass filter — as what Sony calls it — that you can turn on and off.

It has been said that cameras having low-pass filters is uncertain. Sony, being one of the best camera makers worldwide, found a way to present more control and choice of this feature.

It has been reported that the electronic viewfinder of Sony RX1R II is similar to what is found on Fujifilm's X-T1, Olympus' OM-D cameras or even Sony's very own RX100. In addition, the 3-inch LCD screen at the back now tilts.

What's additionally included in the box are rechargeable Battery Pack NP-BX1, AC adopter AC-UUD11/UUD12, Micro USB cable, shoulder strap, lens cap, shoe cap, instruction manual, cleaning cloth, battery charger (BC-DCX) and eyepiece cup.
