The PlayStation 4 continues to beat up the Xbox One in terms of sales according to recent reports.
As reported by Venture Beat, Sony's winning streak against its arch rival continued last month when they confirmed that indeed, the PlayStation 4 outsold the Xbox One and even Nintendo's Wii U in terms of sales in the U.S. market.
According to data from industry-tracking firm the NDP Group, the PS4 has now outsold its 8th generation contemporaries every month of 2015 except for April. And it seems, the Japanese tech giant aims to continue its momentum as the season goes into the holidays.
Reports are saying that the months November and December are easily the two most important times of the year for both gaming hardware and software. But with Sony cutting the base price of the PlayStation 4 from $400 to $350, the projections are clearly in Sony's favor.
As reported by iDigital Times, Sony said in a statement, "As we kick off the holiday season, we would like to take a moment to thank fans for making PlayStation 4 the best-selling console and #1 in software sales in September. PlayStation 4 was the number one console for NBA 2K16, Madden NFL 16, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and FIFA 16."
Sony further added, "It was also a very strong month for PlayStation Network with September being the highest grossing month in PlayStation Store history.
As for Xbox One, Microsoft said in a statement that although they are getting creamed by the competition, they continue to see strong momentum in September due to the release of "Forza Motorsport 6" and "EA Sports FIFA 16."
In a related report by Attack of The Fan Boy, the NDP group said that hardware and software sales may see upsticks going forward this time of the year as the holiday season comes in.
