‘Gilmore Girls’ Episode List Extended! Cast, Creator In Talks With Netflix

"Gilmore Girls," the mother-daughter comedy-drama series that took the year 2000 by storm will see more episodes over Netflix in the near future. The series creator and original cast are already in negotiations.
TV Line enthusiastically confirmed this news on Monday, reporting that there is definitely a chance for us to hear those "final four words" envisioned originally by "Gilmore Girls" creator and writer Amy Sherman-Palladino.
According to a source, Netflix and Warner Brothers has closed a deal for a revival that would feature four 90-minute episodes or mini-movies, as opposed to its old hour-long format. E Online revealed that the story is set to reopen its story in the present day, a rather big time jump from its finale back in May 2007. It would be interesting to see how creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and executive producer Daniel Palladino would fill in this long gap in each major character's life.
Fans of the "Gilmore Girls" series would definitely be interested to learn that four of the original cast members are now discussing their own comebacks in the revival. According to The Telegraph, series lead stars Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel who played mother and daughter Lorelai Gilmore and Rory Gilmore, respectively, will be back to fire those witty lines fans loved, along with Kelly Bishop, who played Lorelai's mother Emily, and diner owner Luke Danes, played by Scott Patterson.
However, it looks like Sookie St. James' character (the very quirky and cheerful best-friend-slash-business-partner of Lorelai) would possibly be filled in by another actor or removed altogether, as Melissa McCarthy will reportedly not be reprising her role. The same goes for Richard (Lorelai's father), whose portrayer Edward Herrmann died last year.
The new storyline for the revival of "Gilmore Girls" has yet to be confirmed, but we are certain to let you know if there are further updates on episodes, cast, setting and release date!
