Adele's James Bond theme song, "Skyfall"

Adele's James Bond theme song, "Skyfall" premiered on Friday October 5th at 0:07 BST/LONDON time (October 4th 7:07pm EST time) same day as Global James Bond Day and exactly 50years since the first James Bond film, DR.NO, hit British cinemas.

Skyfall was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, and features a 77-piece orchestra.

Adele broke her silence on the track in an official message on the James Bond website on Monday: "When we recorded the strings, it was one of the proudest moments of my life.

"I'll be back-combing my hair when I'm 60, telling people I was a Bond girl back in the day, I'm sure!"

After the song was released, "Skyfall" is rapidly jumped up the rank and less than 24hours, already No. 21 on the building Adult Contemporary Chart, No. 40 on Adult Pop Songs.

Based on a strong launch on radio and early sales projections, "Skyfall," is headed for a notable debut on the Billboard Hot 100.

The 23rd Bond film, Skyfall - Daniel Craig's third outing as 007 - is released in UK cinemas on 26 October.
