'WWE Smackdown' SPOILERS, Match Results And Analysis: Smackdown Is More Than Just WWE's Second Fiddle
By Staff Reporter | Nov 05, 2015 08:13 AM EST
"WWE Smackdown" is not just WWE's second banana, it's actually exciting and good on its own.
Last night, despite many wrestlers already departing to Ireland for the European tour, "WWE Smackdown" still managed to provide an electrifying performance that is nothing short of entertaining.
Moreover, Bleacher Report noted that "WWE Smackdown" is currently lacking in star power, with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins nowhere to be found, as well as the injured Randy Orton and John Cena who are on hiatus.
But as reported by What Culture, good thing Alberto Del Rio was there with Zeb Colter to start the show with an interesting promo.
Del Rio then wrestled Neville and expectedly came out with a win. But since this is wrestling, a match ending in a peaceful manner is rare. Jack Swagger then appeard, beating Del Rio in the post-match.
In a similar report by Wrestling Inc., in what probably is one of the quickest matches in the history of Smackdown, The Usos defeated The Ascension in under five minutes. Frankly, that is also not surprising.
However, last night's episode of "Smackdown" seems to be abundant in short matches as it was reported that Ryback defeated King Barrett in a short match, in addition to Natalya beating Tamina Snuka in another short wrestling match.
But just because this is your regular Thursday night show and not some pay-per-view event, it does not mean it doesn't do quality matches. Case in point, in a traditional "Survivor Series" elimination match, Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, Braun Strowman and Erick Rowan defeated Sin Cara, Kalisto, Darren Young and Titus O'Neil.
Darren got eliminated by count out, Sin Cara by Harper, Kalisto by Rowan and Titus by Bray Wyatt with four Wyatts surviving.
But what can be considered the highlight of the night is when WWE Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens beat Dean Ambrose via DQ after performing a phantom low blow.
Ambrose unloads on Owens after the match but the champion quickly retreated through the crowd. The show ended with Ambrose in the ring.
Overall, the "WWE Smackdown" broadcast definitely looks fun, but pundits and critics said that with this being a B-level show, fans will miss nothing by opting not to tune in.
However, that assessment seemed very unfair to the people and crew of "Smackdown," who despite being seen as "WWE Raw's" second banana, is working hard to provide fans quality wrestling entertainment.
WWE is more than just "RAW," and if you open your eyes, "Smackdown" is more than worth checking into.
