"Justice League" Part 1 will feature some of the biggest heroes of DC Comics and its latest update revealed Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman will not be the only female superhero in Zack Snyder's film. Have you any guesses on who the other one is?
"Justice League Part 1" will start its pre-production in the middle of January 2016 and casting would most probably be underway soon.
According to Heroic Hollywood, "Justice League Part 1" will feature another female superhero aside from Wonder Woman who will make her debut in next year's anticipated movie, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."
Excited to find out who? Rumor has it the Queen of Atlantis, Mera, will make her grand entrance in "Justice League Part 1." However, as there were no confirmations from the studio, it's best to take the information with a grain of salt. It's also unclear if she will be part of the team or will just be a featured character.
Mera is the wife and true love of Aquaman played by "Game of Thrones" alum, Jason Momoa. Their union was said to be a means to end the feud among Atlanteans faction. However, Mera has been brainwashed to turn against Aquaman on several occasions and the King of Atlantis has also been forced to make a choice between his child or his wife.
With the rumor circulating of Mera's introduction in "Justice League Part 1," Movie Pilot dished that DC Cinematic Universe may be following the lead of Marvel's Cinematic Universe wherein another female heroine will make her appearance in "Thor: Ragnarok."
For avid comic book fans whether DC or Marvel, it's a common knowledge that Mera is considered to be among the most powerful characters in the DC universe. Although she is primarily connected with the Aquaman franchise her inclusion in Zack Snyder's "Justice League Part 1" is a "bold move."
Since Mera is the Queen of Atlantis, one of the world's most advanced civilizations, it's presumed that her entrance in "Justice League Part 1" will be grand.
Meanwhile, Warner Bros. set the ball rolling for the DC Cinematic Universe with "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" already in its post-production and "Suicide Squad" ready for release. Next up would be Gal Gadot's solo film, "Wonder Woman," helmed by "Monster" director Patty Jenkins and starring Chris Pine and probably Nicole Kidman who's reported to be up for an important role.
Charles Roven, a member of the DC Brain Trust revealed to Collider that "Wonder Woman" will start filming at the end of November in Italy and U.K.
“We’re making most of Wonder Woman [in the U.K.] and we’re also making most of Justice League there, JL One… We’re definitely gonna be shooting Part One in the first or second quarter of next year.”
"Justice League Part 1" aims to bring Wonder Woman, Batman (Ben Affleck), The Flash (Ezra Miller), Superman (Henry Cavill) and Aquaman. Of course, more DC superheroes may come your way as the studio answers Marvel's "The Avengers."
"Justice League Part 1" hits theaters on Nov. 17, 2017.
