The biggest reveal has finally arrived in such a small package. Just about half a year after Apple introduced its third-generation iPad, the company has unveiled its newest item alongside the iPad 4, the iPad Mini.

How is this one different? The iPad Mini is just about a couple inches smaller when measured diagonally, (7.9 vs. its 9.7-inch predecessor) and is only 7.2 millimeters thick. The relative decrease in dimension has yielded a significant decrease in its weight as well, 0.63 pounds, which is less than half the weight of the regular iPads.

The Mini carries an A5 dual-core processor, an iSight 5-megapixel camera, a FaceTime camera capable of capturing video at 720p, a screen resolution of 1,024×768 (similar to the iPad 2), and faster Wi-Fi. The only difference is that it does not have the same retina display and the newest A6 processor. Nonetheless, you'll still be able to do anything you want on the smaller version.

Prices for the iPad Mini have been set at $329 for a Wi-Fi only 16GB model and $459 if it’s Wi-Fi-cellular (increasing a hundred bucks for each memory upgrade). Pre-online selling for both the iPad 4 and Mini begins on October 26. The Wi-Fi only versions will be in stores on Nov. 2 and the cellular version will be available 2 weeks after.
