8 Best Practices to Get and Maintain a 5-Star Passenger Score in Uber

As Uber CEO Travis Kalanick likes to describe the Uber service: "Uber is efficiency with elegance on top. That's why I buy an iPhone instead of an average cell phone, why I go to a nice restaurant and pay a little bit more. It's for the experience." Not too many Uber service users, however, are aware that passengers receive a rating from drivers in the same way that drivers receive ratings from passengers.
A high Uber passenger rating means being able to use the service easily and consistently at all times. A very low rating, however, means that the service will not be so readily or so willingly available. In some cases passengers are removed from the system completely.
Obviously, achieving and maintaining a perfect 5.0 is a great aim. Some of the best tips to achieve this has been compiled by Business Insider:
#1 Avoid telling the driver how to do his job
Uber driver Muhammad tells it very succinctly: "I know my way around this city, and I'm doing my best to get you there as quickly as I can," he says.
#2 Be prompt at pick up
Time is money. As a passenger wants the quickest, most efficient service rendered, so too do drivers appreciate when passengers respect their time.
#3 Remember that creating and/or leaving a mess in the car does not foster a good relationship between a driver and his passenger.
Under certain conditions passengers are charged a cleaning fee mess is made in the car, especially when the mess made is very extensive.
#4 "The little things are vital," says John Wooden
Uber driver Raul reminds that while passengers may take things for granted, these small things may be important to the driver and may spell the difference in the passenger's Uber score.
#5 "You get what you give."
Uber drivers depend on good ratings to be allowed to continue in the Uber network. Appreciation can go a long way and return that sought-after 5-star passenger rating.
#6 Tips are appreciated
Uber doesn't have the app feature for tipping, but that is not to say that a passenger cannot give a cash tip especially after a really good service or if the trip is especially tricky or difficult.
#7 Enter and check your pickup location
For better accuracy and to avoid any delay and mishap, manually type in both pick up and destination addresses.
#8 Avoid being rude and acting entitled
One Uber driver puts into words what many others would like to say: "I'm more than happy to give passengers whatever I have on hand, but they should know to ask politely." For Uber driver Sam politeness and manners are essential to them.
