Hunter Hayes: Country's new heartthrob [VIDEO]

Country's new artist of the year winner, Hunter Hayes could be the new reason to like country music more- his undeniable boyish good looks and soulful rendition is quickly becoming a spellbinding phenomena. He is undoubtedly, country's next big thing!

Born in Louisiana, Hayes started making music when he was just 2 years old and received his first music instrument from his grandmother, an accordion, he later began making appearances at local performances and on national television including showings on Maury, Rosie O'Donnell and ever since , 21 -year-old- country crooner hasn't looked back. 

Thursday was his rise to the top,  at the Country Music Association Awards, Hayes won the "Best New Artist" of the year award and we could hear how honored he was to win CMA's prestigious award. In his humble acceptance speech, "I don't even know what to do right now," he said onstage, adding thanks to his fans, his family and his mom and dad for doing "so much to get me right here." 

Hayes, projects beauty that is skin deep in his "Wanted" lyrics-  "Anyone can tell you you're pretty." but what's important is "Your beauty's deeper than the makeup." He explained, "That's a very important thing to say. The meaning behind it is that we all get caught up in the expectation but 'Hey we've got souls, and you've got a beautiful soul.' 

Hunter Hayes' single "Wanted," hit the No.1 spot on Billboard Country Charts and he broke a record (by a full 3 months and 1 week) and became the youngest solo male act to top the Hot Country Songs originally set in 1973 by Johnny Rodriguez. 

Past CMA new artist of the year awards have gone to The Band Perry, Zac Brown Band, Darius Rucker, Lady Antebellum and Taylor Swift.
