After 32 long years, coroner rules that a dingo killed Aussie baby. It has taken many years for the truth to be promulgated and confirmed. This must have been a painful process for the parents’ babies to endure and a long overdue victory.
The dingo killed and ate her baby, according to Australian coroner Elizabeth Morris. She said it was responsible for the death of baby Azaria Chamberlain who was caught from a tent on a capsite in 1980.
The parents always attested to the fact that it was the dingo that snatched away and killed their baby however their claims were always met with skepticism. As such the couple, Linndy Chamberlain-Creighton was found guilty of murdering her own daughter and sentenced to life imprisonment. Her then husband, Michael was convicted of being an accessory after the fact and was given a suspended sentence. Later they were both exonerated in 1987 after a royal commission.
